this Campaign is thought of as an introductory Campaign.
you begin as a small shopkeeper in Luebeck and have to advance to a patrician in Luebeck within four years.
during the Campaign, you will receive hints and instructions, in the form of personal news,on how best to achieve your aims.
you now have a year to rise from shopkeeper to trader.
Luebeck's strengths lie in fishing and the production of iron goods.
wood and bricks are also produced there, so you shouldn't have any problems constructing new buildings.
on the other hand, Luebeck only produces a little grain and no beer at all.
so first of all, you should concentrate on getting beer from Stettin or Gdansk.
you can also go to Hamburg or Bremen, but they are both further away.
Gdansk is always short of iron goods and sometimes of fish too.
Stettin also urgently need iron goods.
make sure that you don't pay too much for the goods.
the limits are around 450 for fish 450 for iron goods and 50 for beer.
because trade in iron goods is important, you should ensure that there is always enough pig iron in Luebeck,as this raw material cannot be produced here.
this is however produced in Oslo, for instance.
this town is also an appreciative buyer of grain, iron goods and beer.
However, you should always sell as many goods to Luebeck as possible,as this is the quickest way to increase your recognition,so that your advancement to trader status will not take too long.
Incidentally, don't start producing any buildings ships yet.
we can come back to that once you have achieved trader status.
you're on the right trade
but if you want to become a trader, you will also have to look after the rich citizens in Luebeck.
these folk aren't that bothered about beer and grain so you should try to make them happier with meat, wine and cloth.
you can get meat in Aalborg and Bergen.
but make sure that Aalborg has enough salt, otherwise no meat can be produced there.
you can take same salt with you from Luebeck.
you can get wine from Cologne.
the citizens there could do with some fish and beer.
there is plenty of cloth available in Visby.
find out what they need there.
Normally, your reputation in a town increases whenever you supply goods to the town.
However, this only applies if the town actually needs that particular product.
you can tell if a product is no longer required when the sales price is very close to the purchase price.
Incidentally, you can also lose reputation in a town by buying up scarce goods. So don't do this in you home town!
you will notice little product icons against the different towns on the sea map.
these indicate which goods are most urgently required.
be careful: this information takes a while to reach you, so an icon may already be out of date by the time you arrive in the town.
if you want to use these icons to make extra profit, you must therefore concentrate your efforts on the towns in the area immediately surrounding Luebeck.
I shan't make a lot of fuss- I'll just come straight to the point.
I need to hide my goods and your warehouse would be just the job.
In return, I can offer you more gold than you could hold in you hands.
Decide within 10 days.
A man of honour
are you interested in getting marrid?
For the small sum of 3000, I could arrange a meeting with an extremely good-looking young lady of excellent standing.
Are you interested?
Please let me know in the next 14 days.
the lady in question is the lovely Hermine Homer from Oslo.
in case of a marriage, her father would give her a very large dowry.
you have time until the 00.0.0000 to think about it.
your wedding with Hermine Homer will take place on 23.
September 1300.
in order to appropriately cater for all guests of rank and name, please make sure that you have enough goods in stock for the wedding reception at your trading of fice in Luebeck.
now you must make it from trader to merchant status.
you have 6 months to do this.
besides trading, you should now build facilities and town houses in you home town.
as you know, Luebeck's strengths are fishing and the manufacture of iron goods Start by building a facility for each of these from other towns.
but you should only construct one of each building to start with, as you will also have to find buyers for your goods.
building facilities brings you two advantages besides trade:firstly, creating new workplaces draws new citizens into the town.
this increases demand and you can sell more goods.
If you facilities are to fill up with workers quickly, the poor townspeople must at the very least be contented.
you should therefore continue to take good care of the town.
the workers also need somewhere to live.
if existing town houses are too overcrowded, you should build a new one.
you're on the right track;you are gaining more and more recognition in Luebeck all the time.
あなたは正しい道筋にある;あなたはずっとリューベックでのより多くの認識を得ている。
your now have sufficient social recognition in Luebeck.
try to keep it at this level.
but you mustn't start ignoring the town's inhabitants.
if you neglect your duties to a group of citizens for any length of time, your recognition will decrease again.
unfortunately, you aren't wealthy enough to rise to the rank of merchant yet.
so you should continue looking after the citizens in Lubeck and try to a mass a larger fortune.
bear in mind that your facilities need raw materials.
these must be available from your trading of fice.
if you have trading of fice manager, he can buy in the raw materials when the town needs them.
you don't need to worry about this at the moment though, especially since a manager also costs money.
to see which raw materials your facilities need, click on a facility once if is completed.
you can also find out from your trading of fice what all of your facilities in the town need.
