You have just received an email from an old friend, Jack Evans from Australia. He is inviting you to visit him on his farm. He would even like to pay your travel expenses if you can help him out a little on the farm. Completely stoked, you set off for Australia and when you arrive, Jack is already there waiting for you.

You will find our cow pasture to the east. So set up a Large drinking trough and a Large feeding facility (forage) there. [Use the arrow keys to move yourself to the cows and place the two objects near to the animals]

Now start up the water production. [click on the water drops shown below and then on the button with an arrow on it. Now you have to wait until the tower has produced some water. While it’s doing that. Let me tell you a little bit about fish and meat production: In principle it works in the same way as water production only that instead of a water tower, we have a poultry farm or a fish farm as our production locations. The poultry farm produces meat for the dogs. I’ll tell you something about the food production for the herbivores later. [If things are taking too long for you, you can also speed up the time using the arrow buttons right at the top.]

Now I’ll tell you how sowing and harvesting plants works. Install a Harvest Worker near to the cabbage field which is right next to the cow pasture. After that please install another harvest worker near to the maize field which lies a little further to the west.

The two Harvest Workers will now begin to harvest the plants. They will store the harvest directly in your store. [To check the level of stock click on the button right at the top on the right.] You will see that there is a yellow face hovering over a few plants. This means that the plants are lacking something. Click on a plant to see why that is. You will see that it’s complaining to you about the dryness. Recruit a gardener to water the plants. The better the plants feel, the more you can harvest from them. Now make sure that you harvest 60 kg of vegetables.

So, now we still have to make sure that the animals are content as well. [As with the plants, if an animal has an unfulfilled need, then a yellow face hovers over it. Should that need be particularly urgent then the face will have turned red. Click on an animal to see what it is lacking If you want to have an overview of all of the animals on your farm, then click on the small panda’s head in the top right of the menu bar. You can also now find a few things in the Enclosure Config which can help to make your animals more contented.
